About the Position

The Municipal Land Use Specialist will be responsible for performing technical tasks related to development application processing, subdivision plat review, site plan review, and research in the City of Alamo Heights' Community Development Services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development Application Review: Review and evaluate residential site plans, commercial site plans, multi-family site plans, rezoning, ordinance amendments, specific use permits, variances, plats, and other proposals for compliance with ordinances, regulations, and plans.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to support development decisions.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including landowners, engineers, architects, tradesmen, and others.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Planning, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of planning experience and training providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; or a master's degree in planning or a related field in lieu of experience.
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
