Position Overview:

The Financial Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the organization with the strategic planning and evaluation of business processes by delivering precise and timely financial reports. This position is also tasked with the development and maintenance of accounting policies, practices, and procedures, while effectively overseeing the financial accounting team.

Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Yes - Supervise Staff Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold conduct in alignment with all regulations and departmental policies.
  • Oversee the monthly financial closing activities.
  • Generate financial reports, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and review documentation of systems, policies, and procedures across various financial domains.
  • Propose enhancements to strengthen or streamline existing practices.
  • Prepare and/or assist with journal entries.
  • Facilitate and/or assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Compile and/or assist with financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger and departmental inputs.
  • Conduct audits of various functions within Finance and other departments.
  • Collect and maintain information to support quarterly and yearly audits for both internal and external auditors.
  • Prepare and/or assist with detailed account analyses.
  • Examine fluctuations in departmental results and variances from budgeted figures.
  • Support Staff Accountants in maintaining the General Ledger system and reports.
  • Assist Staff Accountants with the upkeep of the Fixed Asset accounting system.
  • Coordinate and facilitate business and financial planning, including both short-term and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Assist in the formulation and monitoring of service level agreements.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and develop historical, current, and potential future trend analyses.
  • Evaluate and communicate financial and operational results to management.
  • Responsible for meeting monthly executive financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop relevant financial and operational metrics for management decision-making.
  • Ensure departmental goals and performance metrics are clearly understood and achieved by management.
  • Provide support for centralized functions related to the respective business enterprise.
  • Assess and develop financial analysis tools to evaluate growth, investment, or liquidation options.
  • Participate in the evaluation of current systems and business processes for adequacy and consistency.
  • Develop financial and operational statements and assist in presenting information.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to responsible practices by discreetly notifying appropriate management of any concerns.
  • Exhibit actions and behaviors that reinforce the company's core values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion, and Dedication.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to management of any observations of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Promote positive public and employee relations at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a comparable environment is required.
  • Experience in casino, entertainment, and/or hotel industries is highly preferred.
  • Must possess at least three (3) years of experience with computerized accounting systems and be proficient in MS Excel.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Gaming license/registration as mandated by the relevant regulatory authority.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
