Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Occupational Therapy to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the management and specialist staff of clinical and educational programs in the Occupational Therapy Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise patient care activities, assess the need for new programs, and recommend staffing assignments.
  • Conduct personnel interviews, evaluate staff performance, and provide counseling and training.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to meet departmental needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve research, education, and patient care goals.
  • Assist in the development of the departmental budget and review monthly financial reports.
  • Establish and implement clinical programs for students, including coordination with Clinical Coordinators and Medical Center Quality Assurance Department.
  • Develop research initiatives, assess clinical practice, and provide mentorship to staff.
  • Work with management team and Site Directors to ensure clinical programming is based on evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy with a post-professional OTD required.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive management experience in Occupational Therapy.
  • Excellent communication skills and licensed in New York State as an Occupational Therapist with an active AOTA membership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D in Occupational Therapy or other healthcare area.
  • Prior management experience, including supervising management/supervisory level positions.
  • Prior experience with management of multi-site occupational therapy services.
