Job Summary

Draper Labs is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-Op student to join our Electronics and Embedded Systems division. As a Co-Op student, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including design and prototyping, analysis and simulation, and modeling and test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems.
  • Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support.
  • Generate and present test reports, including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process.
  • Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Co-Op Students must be US citizens and able to work full-time for a 6 month period.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scripting and modeling in MATLAB, Simulink, Labview, etc.
  • Simulation tools such as SPICE, CST, COMSOL, and ANSYS HFSS/SIwave.
  • Digital/FPGA design tools, such as Xilinx Vivado and Microsemi Libero.
  • Board & chip design tool sets, such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and KiCAD.
  • Signal integrity, layout, and grounding design principles.
  • Digital signal processing, classical controls, and/or modern controls.
  • AI/Machine Learning libraries and frameworks such as Keras and PyTorch.
  • Hands-on experience in digital and/or analog electronics design, prototyping, test, and debug using instruments such as oscilloscopes.
