Surgical Technology Specialist

Become a part of our dedicated team at Tennessee Orthopaedic Clinics as a Surgical Technology Specialist. The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have completed a vocational program in surgical technology, and hold a BCLS certification. With a minimum of 1 year of relevant training and experience, you will play a crucial role in assisting with surgical procedures, preparing necessary materials and supplies, and ensuring a sterile environment in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute assigned tasks as a scrubbed member of the surgical team.
  • Assist in the cleaning and organization of the operating room between procedures and at the conclusion of the daily schedule.
  • Engage in staff development initiatives to improve skills and enhance patient care.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and restocking of the operating room on a weekly and daily basis.
  • Monitor and report any breaches in sterile surgical practices.
  • Support patient positioning, equipment management, and surgical site preparation.
  • Foster team collaboration and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members to ensure preparedness for surgical operations.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a vocational program in surgical technology, BCLS certification required.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of training and experience in surgical technology, preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques, surgical instruments, basic anatomy, and the ability to apply scientific principles to patient care while demonstrating physical and mental endurance.
