Patient Access Advocate II

The Patient Access Advocate II plays a vital role in our front office operations, providing exceptional customer service and expert liaison support for patient and clinic relations. This role focuses on insurance verification, referral management, and orienting new hires to ensure success.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients through the registration process, verifying demographics and insurance information for accurate payment processing and billing.
- Support new employees with registration workflows, following established protocols for collecting and posting co-pays, payment processing, and reviewing records for bad debt.
- Maintain accurate cash drawers, prepare daily deposits, and follow practice close processes.
- Follow practice scheduling guidelines for single or multiple clinics and return, referral, and testing appointments.
- Assist new employees with appointment scheduling, following office procedures for incoming calls, messages, voice mail, and email.
- Manage referrals, obtain pre-certification as needed, and notify pre-cert coordinators for follow-up.
- Create a positive guest experience through adherence to Steps of Service protocols, de-escalating situations when necessary.
- Train new employees on general clerical support, including paperwork, medical records, faxes, scans, filing, and typing.
- Ensure new patient information is delivered in a timely manner, mailing new patient packets and contacting new patients the day before their scheduled appointment.
- Adhere to no-show policies, sending letters and documenting no-shows in a timely manner.
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred: graduate of a certified medical office training course.
- EXPERIENCE: 1 year of clerical experience in a medical setting, proficient in EPIC Cadence/Prelude, and customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
