Position Overview

Under general oversight, the Aquatic Safety Officer is tasked with ensuring safety and order by preventing incidents through the enforcement of established policies, rules, and regulations that govern patron conduct. Responsibilities include monitoring for potential dangers or unsafe conditions, administering first aid when necessary, and engaging in public relations activities. This role requires availability for weekend and holiday shifts.

Compensation Structure:
  • New Aquatic Safety Officers: $15.00 per hour
  • Returning Aquatic Safety Officers: $15.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance, information, and guidance to the public regarding safety matters; addresses and resolves inquiries and complaints from patrons; refers issues to management when necessary; delivers announcements and warnings for public awareness; administers basic first aid for minor injuries.
  • Ensures that all safety precautions are adhered to in order to protect the health and welfare of patrons.
  • Implements and enforces rules and regulations to manage patron behavior effectively.
  • Documents and reports incidents and safety concerns to management.
  • Maintains cleanliness and general upkeep of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be at least 15 years old at the time of hire.
  • Successful completion of a background screening and drug test is required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to swim 300 yards continuously using freestyle or breaststroke; tread water for two minutes without using hands; retrieve a 10-pound object from a depth of 10 feet.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidates must obtain Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid Certification. Training will be provided upon selection.
