Campus Monitor Job Description

At Duval Charter School at Baymeadows K-12, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Monitor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and school facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Monitor Students: Ensure the safety and well-being of students within and outside the school building.
  • Enforce Student Behavior: Communicate with students regarding behavior issues and enforce school rules and regulations.
  • Monitor School Facilities: Watch for disturbances, fights, unauthorized visitors, or any criminal activity in the school.
  • Intervene in Conflicts: Intervene to halt or prevent fights and disturbances, and diffuse threatening or confrontational situations.
  • Oversee Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures: Ensure smooth and safe pick-up and drop-off procedures for students.
  • Run Detention: Oversee and manage detention procedures for students.
  • Support After-school and Extracurricular Activities: Monitor and supervise after-school and extracurricular activities.
  • Monitor Community Events: Monitor and supervise community events held on school premises.
  • Maintain Visitor Logs: Maintain accurate visitor logs and assist visitors to school buildings using the appropriate procedures.
  • Monitor Hallways and Cafeteria: Monitor hallways and the cafeteria during passing time and student lunchtime.
  • Participate in Training Programs: Successfully participate in training programs offered to increase individual skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
  • Stay Informed: Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
  • Monitor Electronic Security System: Monitor the electronic school security system.
  • Ensure Safety Procedures: Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by school administrators.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Proven experience ensuring school rules and regulations to children is required.
  • Skills: Ability to work and interact with individuals, especially students, at all levels of the organization; ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities; ability to prepare comprehensive security reports; ability to establish a set of operating principles and routines; ability to consistently be at work, be on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.
Work Environment:

The work environment is usual office working conditions.

Physical Demands:

No physical exertion is required. Travel within or outside of the state may be necessary.
