Job Summary:

As a Paramedic or CNA in the Emergency Department at Faith Regional Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional medical care to patients. This is a part-time benefit-eligible position, working 48 hours every two weeks, with two 9AM to 9PM shifts per week and every third weekend. You will be working under the supervision of an RN Manager-ER and will be responsible for performing technical procedures, including establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, and transporting patients. You will also assist physicians and nurses with medical procedures, such as examinations, minor surgical interventions, orthopedic treatment, and resuscitation.

Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Care: You will perform triage assessments, identify discharge planning needs, and recognize changes in patient status. You will also communicate with RNs and ED Providers to ensure quality care is delivered.

2. Medical Interventions and Procedures: You will assist with medical procedures, including administering medications, performing ECGs, and vital statistics/telemetry monitoring. You will also maintain professional composure and confidence during stressful situations.

3. Communication and Teamwork: You will communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care. You will also participate in shared leadership, mentor new staff, and accept responsibility for mentoring healthcare students.

Requirements:

• Current Paramedic license from the State of Nebraska required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire required.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within one year from date of hire required.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within one year from date of hire required.

• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) obtained within six full months from date of hire required.

This is a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to work effectively in a team to provide exceptional patient care. You will be required to work a flexible schedule, including after-hours and weekends as necessary.
