Job Summary

As a Unit Coordinator RN in the Emergency Department at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, you will provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. You will demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and lead safety and quality initiatives under the direction of the department manager. Your focus will be on simplifying workflow and contributing to the development of staff. You will also increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area
Provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department
Lead safety and quality initiatives under the direction of the department manager
Simplify workflow and contribute to the development of staff
Increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service

Requirements:

18 months nursing experience required
BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required
Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty
Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire
Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire
BLS required within 90 days of hire
Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred
