About the Role:
The Operations Assistant Manager at Southwest Airlines is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our airport facilities. This role requires a strong leader who can coordinate station activities, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions to drive business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
- Work collaboratively with the operational team to achieve business objectives
- Verify quality work is completed in the station and assist in areas of need
- Review payroll and ensure cash and negotiable items are handled properly
- Provide special care and attention to all customers as needed
- Assist in hiring and training of supervisors and station employees
- Monitor staffing levels and ensure overtime is used effectively
- Ensure employee productivity and efficiency
- Check machinery and equipment and coordinate repairs
- Perform special tasks or assignments as delegated by the Station Manager
- Meet physical ability requirements
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; 4 years of college preferred
- Preferred: Airline supervisory experience
- Valid U.S. driver's license preferred
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team
- Ability to type and/or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed
- Ability to meet the public and work well under stressful situations
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and via radio equipment
- Extensive knowledge in Customer Service, Ramp, and Operations
- Ability to lead and motivate
