We are seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer Lead to join our team at Umanist Staffing LLC. As a senior-level engineer, you will be responsible for developing complex electromechanical systems and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution and compliance with industry best practices.

Job Overview

This is a contract position with an estimated salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. The role requires direct involvement in prototype development and verification builds within a regulated medical device development environment.

You will lead the design of complex mechanical systems from concept to validation, implementing CAD best practices and creating 2D mechanical and electrical drawings using GD&T where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop complex electromechanical systems from concept to validation.
  • Implement CAD best practices, including master sketch/modeling and MBD.
  • Create 2D mechanical and electrical drawings using GD&T where necessary.
  • Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of work experience in complex electromechanical systems in a highly regulated R&D environment, preferably in medical device design and development.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Extensive experience in designing for machined parts and casted/molded parts.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for development of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated CAD proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM, as well as proficiency with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS Finite Element Analysis tools.
  • Proficiency with PLM software and ECOs.
  • Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimum supervision.
