Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital and Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at Bethany. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and supervision to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and supervision to residents, including assistance with daily living activities and medication management.
- Assist residents in learning and practicing appropriate hygiene and self-help skills.
- Act as a role model for residents, demonstrating effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, including transportation to and from medical appointments.
- Perform duties as assigned in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
- Six months to one year of experience working with a psychiatric in-patient population preferred.
- Must be able to work 8 hours a day, standing and walking for prolonged periods.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Successfully complete a drug test and pass a national background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Strong computer skills and excellent communication skills required.
