Role Summary and RequirementsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care while coordinating all operations within the unit/department during their assigned shift. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC oversees, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aids in the admission and discharge processes to guarantee efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engages in the continuous evaluation of the quality of care provided in the unit, working alongside other management team members.
- Collaborates with experts and fellow managers to foster a teamwork-oriented environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
- Advocates for a patient-centered approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Facilitates the facility's engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommends and enforces actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a superior organization.
- Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor resources in accordance with patient care requirements and established productivity standards.
- Supports effective inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse license is required.
- 2-5 years of experience in ICU/CCU is required.
