Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Health Care Provider to join our team at Planned Parenthood. As a key member of our medical services team, you will play a vital role in providing reproductive and prenatal healthcare to our patients.
About the Role: In this position, you will work closely with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care, according to PPHP protocol and operational processes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Securing complete health histories, including obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial information;
- Performing physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system, including breast examination, pelvic examination, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other types of specialized procedures as may be indicated by medical policy;
- Providing direct medical care to patients for all core services, including prenatal, family planning, surgical abortion, medication abortion, and colposcopy services, after observation and approval;
- Participating in accomplishing customer-focused goals;
- Providing referrals and ensuring follow-up;
- Performing and interpreting diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols;
- Consulting with the Chief Medical Director, President & CEO, and Sr. Vice President, Patient Services & Operations, to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines;
- Providing relevant health instruction, including family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance;
- Supporting and encouraging a culture that values customer satisfaction, feedback, and teamwork;
- Demonstrating flexibility and teamwork, understanding the interaction between this position and others with whom the position works directly and indirectly;
- Ensuring that interactions incorporate PPHP values of integrity, partnership, customer focus, communication, and quality;
- Supporting the effort of PPHP's diversity program to provide services that are culturally and linguistically competent;
- Completing all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies, and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA, and Title X.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a current NYS license as an NP, PA, CNM, and national certification preferred. Additionally, you must have current CPR/BLS certification and three to five years of clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. You should possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with diverse staff and clients, and the ability to lead and motivate teams.
