Key Responsibilities of a Heavy Equipment Technician

• Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and equipment, from light-duty vehicles to Class 8 trucks.

• Service and repair all ground-engaging tools and machinery.

• Perform incidental welding tasks on equipment.

• Maintain detailed maintenance records for all machinery, including service logs, parts, repair costs, and inspection schedules.

• Complete 8-10 repair orders daily, focusing on routine maintenance and oil changes for the fleet.

• Conduct 90-day inspections on equipment.

‎ :

Qualifications Required

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Authorization to work in the United States

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive and heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.

• Understanding of the hazards and safety measures relevant to the trade.

• Forklift certification is required.

• Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions.

• Capability to meet deadlines for equipment inspections.

• Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

• Valid driver's license (Class A preferred).

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Routinely:
Engage in walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and sitting for extended periods. Climb on and off equipment. Push, pull, reach, and carry tools and materials weighing up to 25 lbs. Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Occasionally:
Push, pull, reach, and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs. Drive for extended periods.
