Position Summary

The Resident Care Specialist plays a pivotal role within our northeast market, providing essential support to the Director of Health and Wellness or stepping in when the position is unfilled. This role is integral to the effective management of a community's Resident Care Department, ensuring that clinical, regulatory, and financial standards are not only met but exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the adherence to current policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with both corporate and external regulatory standards.
  • Enhance compliance with resident rights policies and actively work to address resident concerns.
  • Conduct compliance evaluations at various communities and assist in formulating action plans to mitigate risks identified during surveys.
  • Engage in State and Federal compliance surveys and investigations.
  • Support the development and monitoring of performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and orientation to community staff on compliance, risk management, and performance enhancement.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of community Directors of Health and Wellness.
  • Maintain awareness of state regulations and monitor any proposed changes.
  • Foster a culture that aligns with the company's values and mission.
  • Collaborate with external vendors as necessary to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure timely reporting of information and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Exhibit respect and compassion in all interactions with residents, families, and staff.
  • May serve as a temporary Interim Director of Health and Wellness when required.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Provide guidance and support to community administrators and health staff, ensuring high-quality care is consistently delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with Multistate Compact Licensure is required.
  • Proven experience in assisted living settings is essential.
  • Five to ten years of nursing experience, with three to five years in a management role.
  • Current experience as a Director of Wellness or similar role in Assisted Living is mandatory.
