Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grocery Product Specialist to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our grocery team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers have access to a wide selection of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Replenish products through proper buying procedures, ensuring that our shelves are always fully stocked and our customers have access to the products they need.
  • Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring that our inventory levels are always up to date.
  • Control spoilage and shrink, participating in inventory and cycle counting to ensure that our products are always fresh and of the highest quality.
  • Complete spoilage and all other inventory management processes, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate, monitoring inventory turns to ensure that our products are always in stock and our customers have access to the products they need.
  • Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage, ensuring that our products are always fresh and of the highest quality.
  • Support leadership in conducting inventories, ensuring that our products are always accurately counted and our inventory levels are always up to date.
  • Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets, ensuring that our business is always thriving and our customers are always satisfied.
Requirements
  • 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a grocery or food service environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of grocery products, including ingredients, nutritional information, and food safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge and application of all grocery merchandising expectations, including visual merchandising, product placement, and inventory management.
  • Ability to educate team members on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm for the products we sell.
  • Strong basic math skills, including the ability to accurately count and manage inventory.
  • Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team, ensuring that our customers receive excellent service and our team members are always supported.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures, effective time management and organization skills, and a strong work ethic.

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. The role also requires the ability to work in a wet and cold environment, and to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $31.50, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs.
