Job Summary:

The Procurement Lead - Strategic Sourcing will lead the procurement activities on a project, managing key elements of the Procurement deliverables, including developing procurement strategies, tenders, contract execution, delivery, and close-out. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to support project objectives
Coordinate and evaluate tender packages for capital equipment and other materials
Negotiate contract terms and conditions to support project schedule and budget
Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established Project Controls and Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures
Develop well-written, well-structured procurement documentation that supports project requirements
Support proactive performance and relationship management, as well as dispute avoidance and resolution
Identify and maximize cost-saving opportunities
Provide reports, analyses, and advice to support procurement decision-making
Identify and evaluate key risks at contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate
Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement activity to meet organizational compliance requirements
Contract administration to support execution, including correspondence and contract notices and claims assessment

Requirements:

10 years' experience in Contracts within mining or similar heavy industries
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple packages
High-level written skills with excellent attention to detail
Extremely well-developed analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, law, or construction desirable
