We are seeking a highly skilled Transplant Coordinator to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of the transplant team, you will play a critical role in the evaluation, placement, and management of transplant patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients for transplant candidacy and coordinate evaluations with the transplant team, referring physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate the evaluation process, including scheduling appointments, coordinating testing, and communicating with patients and families.
- Communicate with the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) to maintain accurate and current patient waiting lists.
- Participate in clinical rounds, meetings, and educational programs to stay up-to-date on best practices and improve patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, or dietetics required.
- 3-4 years of professional clinical experience as a registered dietitian, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant preferred.
- Candidates with at least 1 year of previous transplant-related experience preferred.
- RD - Registered Dietitian required or Registered Nurse with State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia.
