Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team at ITConnect Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber optic cable installation, including termination, testing, and splicing. Additionally, they should have experience with CAT5 and CAT6 cable installation, as well as routing, terminating, testing, and building out server rooms and data centers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects with 50 to 500 drops, possessing excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form. They will also be expected to assist and/or perform all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance, and/or repair of communication systems, cable projects, and associated equipment on all types of projects within the communication construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform material handling, jobsite housekeeping, tool and equipment maintenance, and general labor.
  2. Install conduit and raceway, including bending conduit with hand benders.
  3. Assemble and install cable support and wire management systems.
  4. Use and instruct in the use of cable placement tools and specialized cable tuggers.
  5. Perform low voltage and fiber terminations.
  6. Lead projects with up to 500 drops.
  7. Demonstrate mastery of industry standard copper and fiber test equipment.
  8. Read and understand schematics, blueprints, and instruction manuals.
  9. Communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  10. Mastery of BICSI/TIA installation standards.
  11. Create and modify as-built drawings.
  12. Understand telecom demarc layout and perform basic cross-connect, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  13. Understand the NEC and all communications-related code standards.
  14. Assist in planning and layout of projects as part of the pre-job planning process.
  15. Understand and follow jobsite directions and instructions, both written and verbal.
  16. Comprehend and abide by OSHA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Report all violations to immediate supervisor.
  17. Perform other project-related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision.
