Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Coordinator to join our Central Sterile Processing team at Prisma Health. As an Instrument Coordinator, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care by ensuring the proper processing, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of instrument inventory, including tracking and ordering of supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the availability of instruments for procedures, and assist with troubleshooting and resolving instrument-related issues.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and productivity in the Central Sterile Processing department.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Sterile Processing, Surgical Tech, or Dental Assistant Training program.
  • 3 years of experience in Sterile Processing or OR experience.
  • Certification as either CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from HSPA or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician) from CBSPD is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) from HSPA or CSIS (Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist) from CBSPD is preferred.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced Central Sterile Processing department. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
