Job Summary

The Family Office Accountant is a part-time, hybrid position that assists the Director of Family Office in various accounting and tax reporting duties. This role is an integral part of the Family Office team, dedicated to providing excellent and timely service to the Family.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger Management: Record monthly activity for all trusts, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly trust financial statements, providing a clear picture of the Family's financial situation.
  • Monthly Close Process: Support and assist the monthly close process, including review of account reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Tax Filings: Prepare and submit federal and state tax filings for small trusts and individuals, as well as federal gift tax returns.
  • Beneficiary Statements: Prepare annual beneficiary statements for numerous trusts and beneficiaries, maintaining transparency and compliance.
  • Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the Family Office.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years' work experience in accounting and/or tax preparation, with a strong background in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience working with Sage Intacct and CCH ProSystem FX or similar software is highly desirable.
  • Family Office Experience: Work experience in a family office and/or with trusts is preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of the Family's financial needs.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Solid skills in reconciliation, analysis, and sound judgment, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations.
