Position Summary

The Corporate Partnerships Manager plays a pivotal role in cultivating and expanding a network of corporate partnership opportunities, focusing on enhancing A Wider Circle's philanthropic contributions. This role involves structuring and soliciting corporate donations and sponsorships through a comprehensive outreach strategy, which encompasses identifying potential partners, fostering relationships, soliciting support, and ensuring ongoing engagement to align corporate partners with the mission, values, and objectives of A Wider Circle.


Key Responsibilities

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Act as an essential member of the Development Team, contributing to annual institutional giving goals by actively managing a high-value portfolio of corporate donors and prospects.
  • Collaborate with the Development Director to establish clear guidelines and metrics for annual objectives.
  • Oversee the identification, research, and management of a pipeline of corporate sponsorship prospects and donors.
  • Design and implement stewardship plans for major corporate sponsors.
  • Work alongside the Development Director to create and manage A Wider Circle's corporate partnership program, including defining giving levels and associated benefits.
  • Coordinate with communications staff to ensure that all external communication materials adhere to organizational branding standards.
  • Engage potential corporate donors with A Wider Circle's mission and vision, staying informed about programmatic needs and priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development Director and the Director of Grants and Contracts to develop proposals, materials, and donor-centric correspondence to enhance engagement within the corporate sponsorship portfolio.
  • Support the Volunteer Team in mobilizing corporate volunteers, including participating in volunteer activities and representing A Wider Circle at outreach events.
  • Monitor corporate-related aspects of the annual Neighbor to Neighbor Night, coordinating with event leads to solicit sponsorships and manage event logistics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the donor database.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate for the Corporate Partnerships Manager position will possess:

  • A proven track record of effectively engaging and managing corporate partners to increase contributions.
  • A community-focused approach to fundraising, with the ability to connect corporate prospects and donors to A Wider Circle's priorities while building lasting relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively both externally and internally.
  • The capability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while also demonstrating self-motivation to work independently.
  • A strong passion for the mission of A Wider Circle and a commitment to advancing organizational priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in development or a related field, with a focus on corporate relations preferred.
  • Familiarity with philanthropic communities and interests in the broader Washington, DC area is appreciated.
  • Expertise in corporate funding models and approaches throughout the gift cycle.
  • Experience working with volunteers in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • The ability to deliver compelling presentations and address inquiries effectively.
  • Proficiency with Google Organization & Productivity Tools (Gmail, Google Docs, Calendar) and/or a willingness to learn new technology systems.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems is a plus.

Work Environment

This position will be conducted in an office setting.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting and engaging in phone communication.
