Job Summary

A Wider Circle seeks a detail-oriented Development Coordinator to join its dynamic Development team at a critical time in its history.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the proper record keeping of all financial contributions to A Wider Circle, tracking stewardship outreach and outcomes, and supporting the successful functioning of the Development team as a whole.

This position will report to the Director of Development and is based in Silver Spring, MD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gift Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial gifts to A Wider Circle by working with the finance team, uploading batches of new checks, and reviewing failed transactions.
  • Donor Stewardship: Ensure accurate and timely stewardship of donors to A Wider Circle by preparing acknowledgement letters, generating personalized donor thank yous, and responding to donor inquiries.
  • Database Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness of the donor database by regularly updating constituent contact information and deduplicating records.
  • Department Coordination and Support: Support the coordination of donor mailings, provide administrative support to the Development team, and coordinate with the Volunteer team to speak with large volunteer groups.
  • Donor Research/Prospecting: Conduct donor research on prospective supporters, track outreach and outcomes related to prospecting, and support outreach efforts to prospective donors.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least three years of work experience, preferably in administrative support, fundraising, or database management
  • Experience working with Customer Relations Management (CRM) software such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, etc.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational skills
