IT Field Service Technician

As an IT Field Service Technician at KBR, you will play a critical role in providing expert technical support and analysis to field engineers and technicians. Your work will involve providing technical advice and guidance on the installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement of Company technical products, programs, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides expert and second-tier technical support and analysis to field engineers and technicians.
Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement of Company technical products, programs, and systems.
Tests, trains, and field support are provided to customers regarding technical aspects of designated systems and services.
Provides expertise for the resolution of technical problems, troubleshoots products, and modifies products to customer requirements.
Maintains network stability through advanced troubleshooting, timely resolution of incidents, and proactive maintenance to provide the maximum availability and optimal Mean Time to Repair.
Provides training to customers.
Reviews system and network configurations to ensure successful implementation of services into production. Provides expert and second-tier technical support for the installation and repair of complex systems and outages. Partners with developers and engineers to reduce reoccurring incidents.
Answers questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization, and usage of designated systems and services.
Applies senior diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions to correct common failures.
Provides consultative assistance during off hours as needed.
Sets up workstations.
Installs scanners, printers, computer systems, and associated hardware.
Integrates hardware into new and existing facilities and equipment racks at the data center.
Installs servers, network hardware, and related components to manufacturer and customer specifications.
Routes and neatly dresses system cables (fiber and copper) in underfloor and overhead cable trays.
Reads and interprets engineering drawings and Work Orders.
Has experience or familiarity of Intelligence Community designated systems.
Willingness to work outside of normal work hours.
Willingness and ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or greater.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more to CONUS and OCONUS Government Facilities.
General comprehension of components/subcomponents of data center infrastructure, including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
Familiarity with the power source needed for each hardware device and being able to identify available power outlets as well as correct power cordage.

Qualifications:
Required:
Top Secret/SCI
Current US Passport.
At least one (1) year of experience with installation, maintenance of IT computers, printers, scanners, VTC equipment, routers, and crypto devices, etc.
Bachelor's degree and two (2+) years of relevant experience; master's degree and no years of experience; High School Diploma/GED and eight (8+) years of relevant experience
Desired:
Tech control experience working with circuits.
Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
Experience working in a Data Center environment
Basic Compensation:
$80,000 - $120,000
This range is for the Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
