Job Description

As a key member of the fairlife team, the Senior Director, Industry Affairs and Sustainability will play a critical role in strengthening the company's reputation as a leader in animal agriculture and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industry Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including agriculture industry organizations, NGOs, and other stakeholders to advance fairlife's sustainability and animal care reputation.
  • Animal Agriculture and Environmental Stewardship: Collaborate with internal teams to establish and communicate goals and commitments in animal care, environmental stewardship, and other responsibility pillars.
  • Legislative and Regulatory Affairs: Track and analyze animal care and sustainability developments in legislative and regulatory affairs, with a focus on dairy.
  • Media Relations: Collaborate with the PR team to build relationships with key food and agriculture policy media and create dashboards to monitor influential and consumer content relevant to the brand and category on animal care and stewardship issues.

Requirements:

  • 20+ years of experience in communications, with a deep understanding of animal agriculture, agriculture policy, and food/agriculture sustainability.
  • Experience in issues management, especially related to animal agriculture and livestock housing, medication, handling, and stewardship issues.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and team mentoring skills.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, with a strong ability to build, drive, and inspire a high-performing team.

Location: Chicago, IL

Reports to: CEO

Travel Requirements: >20%
