Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Special Education team at West Contra Costa USD - Richmond. The successful candidate will provide on-going remedial services to pupils with communicative disorders, including language, speech, and hearing handicaps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose language, speech, and hearing problems of referred students.
  • Conduct Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings at least annually for all enrolled students.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans for language, speech, and hearing handicapped students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for all students in the program.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other personnel to support students with language, speech, and hearing problems.
Requirements
  • Certification by the State of California or under waiver for certification in Speech, Language and Hearing.
  • University degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with assessment procedures and tools in the field of Speech Pathology.
  • Familiarity with therapy techniques and materials in the field of Speech Pathology.
  • Knowledge of the California Education Code and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
