Job Summary

The Food Service Assistant is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for ensuring a high-quality dining experience for our residents and guests. This role involves monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and receiving payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and record proper temperature of food to ensure food safety and quality
  • Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area, including tables, chairs, and equipment
  • Prepare and serve food items, including hot and cold beverages
  • Restock food areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and pantries
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, including dishwashers, steam tables, and utensils
  • Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register
  • Provide outstanding customer service and effectively communicate with patrons and co-workers
  • Maintain quality control standards and comply with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service
Requirements
  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money
  • Knowledge of food service and safety procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to perform basic math
