Job Title: Senior Certified Nursing Assistant

At the Good Samaritan Society, we are committed to providing high-quality care and service to our residents. We are seeking a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary

The Senior Certified Nursing Assistant will provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role requires a high level of expertise and experience as a certified nursing assistant, with a focus on delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident.

Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
  • Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
  • Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participates in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
