This Per Diem Mental Health Technician position at La Amistad Behavioral Health Services is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing high-quality care in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will work directly with patients, assisting them to achieve their goals and ensuring their safety while on the unit, at school, or participating in activities. As a Mental Health Technician, you will have the primary responsibility for running groups on the unit and overseeing the daily schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities, consistently demonstrating a sensitive and supportive attitude.
- Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community meetings, and group settings.
- Acts as residents' advocate, maintaining confidentiality and upholding resident rights.
- Evaluates and demonstrates knowledge of age-specific behaviors, motor skills, and psychological norms.
- High school graduate or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred.
- Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Technician, working with children, adolescents, and/or adults.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; verification of absence of criminal record required.
