Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Accountant to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing general journal entries, allocating indirect costs, and reviewing project gross margins.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare general journal entries for construction projects and corporate GL transactions
  • Allocate indirect costs to the project level
  • Review project gross margins on a monthly/quarterly basis and identify variances
  • Prepare and review job cost reconciliations and record closing journal entries
  • Responsible for monthly account reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Provide additional financial schedules for monthly financial reporting packages
  • Monitor monthly fees, trailing costs, participation fees, marketing fees, and other recurring monthly transactions
  • Manage other recurring payments such as insurance premiums, special check requests, and property tax payments
  • Preparation of quarterly prepaids amortization and fixed assets depreciation schedules
  • Prepare and submit monthly loan & construction draws
  • Assist management with internal/external audit support
  • Assist with joint ventures accounting, capital calls/distributions
  • Assist with general accounting functions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Prior financial statement experience preferred
  • 5 or more years of accounting experience
  • Prior experience in real estate construction industry required
