Position Overview

The Detroit Medical Center is currently in search of a dedicated MRI Technologist to join our esteemed team in providing exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic MRI examinations using advanced imaging technology.
  • Ensure patient safety by verifying identity and reviewing medical histories.
  • Engage with patients to gather and confirm medical information, assessing any potential risks.
  • Thoroughly explain the MRI procedure to patients, detailing possible side effects and answering questions.
  • Prepare imaging equipment and acquire high-quality images as per established protocols.
  • Review and analyze images, documenting any deviations from standard procedures and communicating findings to the radiologist.
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, ensuring patient care is prioritized.
  • Provide post-examination care instructions as directed by physicians.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department, focusing on patient satisfaction and care quality.
  • Offer educational support to residents, student technologists, and new staff members.
  • Be available for on-call duties as required by departmental needs.
Qualifications

1. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), or hold certification from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).

2. Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required by the end of the orientation period.

3. A minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) is preferred.
