Recreation Fee Clerk

This position is located in Grand Canyon National Park, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division/Recreation Fee Branch.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the National Park Service as a front-line, uniformed representative, answering visitor questions and explaining recreational opportunities.
- Perform financial transactions, including operating an electronic cash register, computer, or point-of-sale system.
- Collect and account for money, issue receipts, tour tickets, permits, park passes, and federal recreation passes.
- Complete shift reports, verify money collected, and create accountability records.
- Inventory and restock fee program supplies, assist with ordering equipment and supplies.
This position is stationed at Grand Canyon National Park at the South Rim, located in Northern Arizona. The South Rim is situated at an elevation of 7,000 feet, with temperatures ranging from 90 degrees in the summer to 0 degrees in the winter.
Grand Canyon Village offers various amenities, including schools, a daycare center, post office, general store, churches, a recreation center, public library, clinic, and restaurants. The park community consists of approximately 2,500 people, including employees and their family members.
Requirements- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- Complete online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
- Participate in Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- Operate a government motor vehicle, if required.
- Wear a uniform and comply with National Park Service uniform standards.
- Work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift work.
- Complete a one-year probationary period, if new employee or supervisor.
- Travel overnight away from home, if required.
To qualify for this position, you must possess one of the following:
- One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work demonstrating ability to acquire knowledge and skills needed for Recreation Fee Clerk.
- Two years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
