Job Description

A career opportunity exists for a skilled Senior Operations Manager to lead the management of mechanical systems in a large Class A office building in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and operations management, with experience in overseeing the maintenance and repair of complex building systems.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Engineer and be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems are operating efficiently and effectively. This includes:

  • Mechanical Systems: Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, plumbing, and piping systems; maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Electrical Systems: Handling maintenance and repair of electrical appliances, motors, generators, circuits, and emergency power systems.

In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of engineers and technicians to ensure that all mechanical systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure that repairs and maintenance are completed on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering and operations management, preferably in a commercial building setting.
  • Proven track record of success in managing complex building systems and leading teams.
  • District of Columbia 3rd Class Steam License and CFC Universal Certification required.

Salary:$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
