MillerKnoll is seeking a Senior Vice President of Procurement to enhance our Global Retail and Product divisions. In this pivotal role, you will forge and nurture relationships with top-tier suppliers to bolster our product expansion strategies, emphasizing operational excellence and superior quality. Your extensive experience in establishing and executing a strategic procurement framework within the home furnishings sector will be essential.

As the head of our Procurement team, you will collaborate across the organization to advance our Lifestyle furniture category, catering to residential clients. Your strategic insight into global procurement and product development will be crucial in scaling processes, driving efficiencies, achieving margin objectives, and ensuring a robust supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive procurement strategy to support our Lifestyle product line.
  • Oversee the vetting and onboarding process for new suppliers.
  • Evaluate and enforce supplier performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Lead initiatives focused on product quality, sustainability, and risk management that adapt to the evolving needs of the business and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with ESG leaders to fulfill our commitments to a Better World (reducing carbon footprint, minimizing waste, sourcing sustainable materials).
  • Stay informed on geopolitical and economic changes to guide risk management, redundancy, and dual-sourcing strategies.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our supply chain.
  • Champion sustainability efforts in our sourcing practices.
  • Establish and maintain a responsible sourcing program.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements within procurement workflows, tools, and reporting.
  • This role requires regular domestic and international travel to engage with regionally based teams and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier capacities and provide recommendations for growth, maintenance, or reduction.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience in global product procurement.
  • Capability to formulate short- and long-term operational plans (3-5 years) aligned with the overall procurement strategy.
  • A well-established network within the home furnishings industry.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of furniture manufacturing and the home furnishings market.
  • Experience in new product commercialization, including the complete development and launch cycle.
  • Expertise in retail operations and metrics, with a strong understanding of key customer metrics and the end-to-end supply chain for effective supplier evaluation, selection, and management.
  • Proven success in navigating and thriving within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Skilled in collaboration and influencing across functions.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to challenge existing norms.
  • Robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent professional experience.
  • High standards of personal integrity and business ethics.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
