CME Group is launching a new Securities Clearing House, which will initially offer clearing services for cash treasuries and repo markets.

The Director of Securities Clearing Operations and Risk will work with the broader team to design and implement operational workflows, risk governance, and technology integration with market participants.

This role will be responsible for directing global teams during US business hours and ensuring CME Securities Clearing monitors, escalates, and mitigates risks during daily processing of critical clearing operations and risk functions.

The Director will lead and execute short, medium, and long-term division projects, as well as direct the training and development of staff to perform in accordance with operational and risk management needs defined by SEC regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of Securities Clearing operational workflows and system testing to support the launch of a new securities clearing house.
  • Oversee a team responsible for day-to-day securities operations, including trade submission and settlement, as well as failed transaction management.
  • Primary senior contact for external departments, market participants, and settlement banks during US hours.
  • Accountable for timely and accurate processing and ensuring sufficient policies, procedures, and controls are in place to meet SLAs daily.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and career progression of staff members.
  • Provide critical assessment of operational system and risk management issues, providing quick and accurate resolutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the customer base.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of cash treasury and repo markets.
  • Experience in clearing securities transactions at a Clearing Agency, Broker Dealer, or trading firm.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk and necessary internal controls as they relate to the clearing infrastructure and risks required.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and drive towards resolution.
  • Prior management experience a plus.
  • Ability to work well across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

The salary range for this role is $144,700-$241,100.

Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
