We are seeking a highly skilled Program Specialist to join our team at the National Council on Aging. As a key member of our Center for Healthy Aging team, you will play a vital role in managing projects and initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of older adults.

Job Description

The Program Specialist will be responsible for overseeing various projects across several domains, including testing new solutions for older adults in collaboration with community partners. This will involve working closely with national, state, and local organizations to deliver technical assistance and support the implementation of evidence-based programs.

You will also be responsible for expanding public awareness of strategies and techniques available to prevent falls and manage chronic conditions in older adults, as well as supporting the coordination of programmatic convenings, such as webinars, roundtables, and collaboratives.

In addition, the Program Specialist will work on projects that include an evaluation component and meet corporate and federally funded deliverables. These efforts will focus on advancing health policies that support older adults to age with dignity and equitable access to quality healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and support healthy aging pilot projects and initiatives, meeting deadlines and ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to contractual and grant commitments.
  • Support relationships with community-based organizations and other partners, including corporate and federal funders, to advance NCOA's mission.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convene stakeholders for health-related events and discussions.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse audiences, interfacing with various stakeholders and contributing positively to the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience in program administration and/or project management.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and analytical skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and document formatting skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and platforms, such as Asana.
  • Demonstrated technology skills, including Microsoft Office programs and advanced features in Excel.
Benefits

NCOA offers a competitive salary range of $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.
