Lead a National Movement in Direct Care Workforce Development

We are seeking an exceptional leader to spearhead our efforts in direct care workforce development at the National Council on Aging (NCOA). As the Director of Direct Care Workforce Development and Strategy, you will play a crucial role in shaping our approach to addressing the challenges facing this critical sector.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Medicaid and Medicare policies, particularly those related to long-term supports and services (LTSS). They will possess excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing federal and state contracts, corporate grants, and collaborative efforts with external partners.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

About the Role

This senior-level position reports directly to the CEW Senior Director and requires advanced knowledge and experience in direct care workforce development, Medicaid and Medicare policy, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of the Direct Care Workforce Strategies Center on behalf of the U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL).

  • Provide quality control and oversight of technical assistance and resources created by the Center.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Center's partners, contracts, and consultants.
  • Manage all financial and programmatic aspects of the 5-year cooperative agreement.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in developing trusted-advisor relationships with partner organizations at a state and national level to create tangible results. They will also have solid professional presence and operational instincts, with strong strategic skills and sound business judgment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience.
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience related to Medicaid and Medicare, specifically on issues related to LTSS policy and programming.
  • Experience managing and leading federal and state contracts, corporate grants, sponsorships, contracts, and collaborative efforts with external partners.
