About the Job

We are seeking a seasoned Property Claims Supervisor to join our team at Stillwater Insurance Group in Omaha, NE. As a key member of our claim leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a team of in-office desk adjusters and driving results through effective leadership and training.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in property and casualty insurance, with experience in loss reserving, damage estimating, and repair techniques. They will also possess excellent negotiation and investigation skills, as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Summary

The Property Claims Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the management of claim files within their unit, ensuring accurate system loss description, cause of loss codes, and financial transaction codes.
  • Protecting the company's coverage defenses by ensuring appropriate reservation of rights and disclaimer position letters.
  • Acting swiftly and affirmatively to resolve business challenges and ensuring timely and complete investigations on transferred, shared, and claims handled from the ground up.
  • Drafting and completing necessary case narrative reports to the claim files, reinsurers, and claims management.
  • Ensuring claim administration standards are met, including compliance with all Unfair/Fair Claim Practice Acts and Insurance Code Regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Prior management or supervisor position preferred and proven leadership track record.
  • Continuing Education such as CPCU or other advanced degrees preferred.
  • Exceptional knowledge of property and casualty policies, insurance principles, loss reserving, and development skills.
  • Sound business judgment and effective human relations, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent expense management skills.
  • Working knowledge of appropriate legal principles, Unfair Claim Practice Acts, and Insurance Codes.
