Job Summary

This position is a Project Management Subject Matter Expert and may be called on to provide expert advice and mentoring to other projects and PM's. The successful candidate will support and manage projects that are typically at the $100M level with or without Customer Focus. The role involves working with Supervisor/Contractors/Project Team to manage the development and delivery of projects to which he/she is assigned and focuses on the achievement of project cost and schedule objectives while achieving excellence in the areas of project safety, quality, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the project organization structure required for the project and identifies the technical skills required to achieve project goals; works with the appropriate Entergy management to assign appropriately skilled individuals to the project team.
  • Coordinates with all functional departments as needed to achieve the requirements of the applicable corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinates and oversees activities of the project team and navigates the project through the Entergy Stage Gate process to meet the requirements of Entergy's SGP and associated deliverables (estimates, schedules, gates, etc.).
  • Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and executes the project in adherence with this plan.
  • Ensures project controls are implemented for effectively managing project scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts, and communications in accordance with the applicable corporate standards.
  • Fulfills role as the 'Contract Manager' or the 'Owner's Representative' as defined in the project contract. Administrates the contract and issues formal correspondence to Contractors in accordance with corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project; ensures contract scope of work includes safety deliverables/requirements as needed.
  • Monitors contractor performance in the area of project safety, schedule, cost, quality of work and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Identifies, communicates, and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance.
  • Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports and presentations for management.
  • Delivers projects with cost and schedule certainty; manages and controls costs; identifies and mitigates risks.
  • Turns over completed project equipment/systems to the owner with all necessary documentation, training and instructions.
Requirements
  • Minimum education required of the position: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field OR 4 years of equivalent/related work experience (in addition to Minimum Experience requirement) in lieu of degree.
  • Preferred: Advanced Degree Preferred - MBA, Masters in Engineering, Construction, Project Management.
  • Minimum experience required of the position: 10 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field.
  • Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position: Subject Matter Expert in project and construction management fundamentals and complicated project problem resolutions.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management applications, processes, software and equipment.
  • Understanding of Industry Best Practices.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional project leadership experience, team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor.
  • Knowledge of Effective Estimating Practices.
  • Preferred: PMP (Project Management Professional certification).
Work Environment

This position is temporarily designated as Hybrid and includes a mixture of activities that can be performed virtually and activities that are better suited to be in person in collaboration with others. Flexibility to telecommute from an Approved Telecommuting Location a high percentage of time. Designated Work Location will be an Entergy Office Location. Residence must be within daily commuting distance of Designate Work Location.
