Job Summary:
National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Roadway Worker In Charge to lead our railroad flagging services team in ensuring the safety of our clients and their employees.

Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

About the Job:
This is a full-time position that requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Roadway Worker In Charge, you will be responsible for providing jobsite coordination, clear and concise communication with dispatchers and other personnel, and enforcing all railroad, state, and federal policies. You will also be required to identify rule violations and resolve them according to policy, submit daily field reports, and provide on-track safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations. This role involves extensive travel, often for extended periods of time. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working with a Class 1 Railroad, Regional Short Line, Transit System, or State DOT Rail Division, preferably in the Maintenance Of Way (MOW) Department. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Proficient computer skills, including basic email, phone, and text message applications, as well as Android OS, Citrix Applications, are necessary. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with technical knowledge in railroad engineering, design, construction, and safety, are essential. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, tolerate extreme temperatures, and work in dusty and noisy conditions is required. This job operates in a field environment, and the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
