Position Summary
Burgess Norton Mfg Co is currently seeking a dedicated Automation Technician to join our team. This role involves setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining automation systems within our manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain all robotic and automation systems, including fixtures, conveyors, and other related equipment to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Conduct preliminary inspections and provide temporary approvals for setups prior to production runs.
- Oversee production processes to ensure correct setups, maintain part quality, and prevent operational interruptions.
- Secure full inspection approvals on setups before commencing production.
- Propose and implement innovative automation solutions and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Refine existing automation processes to boost productivity and product quality.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting expertise for all robotic machinery.
- Assist in the rollout of new processes, conduct sampling tasks, and gather data for analytical purposes.
- Maintain accurate records, perform preventive maintenance, and complete necessary documentation.
- Execute minor repairs on automation equipment, including sensors, belts, and actuators.
- Provide training and support to fellow employees as needed.
- Seek assistance when faced with challenges and clarify any uncertainties.
- Engage in collaborative problem-solving as part of the continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Utilize personal protective equipment as mandated by safety regulations.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in the use of work hours, machinery, and tools.
- Contribute to the self-directed work team structure within the department.
- Comply with the company’s quality standards and take pride in the products manufactured.
Qualifications
Education:
A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that equips the individual with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing automation, robotic technology, and CNC machinery is required.
Skills & Knowledge:
Proficiency in robotics, manufacturing automation, CNC operations, reading blueprints, and forklift operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing and delegating tasks to team members during shifts, though not directly involved in hiring or disciplinary actions.
