Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist Level I to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operating room environment, adhering to aseptic surgical techniques.
  • Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for various surgical procedures, including gowning and gloving, draping, and providing a sterile field.
  • Assist surgeons with instrumentation, suture, and related materials, while maintaining a sterile, dry, and unobstructed field.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
  • Ability to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
  • Ability to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
