As an


Educational Support Specialist, you will deliver personalized supervision and instruction to designated students while providing essential support to the core classroom team.

By collaborating with student(s) to execute their individualized education programs (IEP), you will implement both group and individual instruction in various settings.

‖ Key Responsibilities Include:


Assisting classroom educators in fostering an environment where students feel secure, valued, and held to high standards of learning.

Implementing on-site and community-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions aligned with each student's goals and objectives.


Guiding and observing students during lessons to ensure instructional fidelity and employing teaching strategies to facilitate student learning and achievement of course completion requirements.


Monitoring and encouraging the progress of individual students according to established timelines and communicating overall progress or necessary interventions to the classroom teacher.


Managing student behavior by adhering to the organization's philosophy and policies, applying appropriate disciplinary measures when needed, and collaborating with classroom educators to ensure consistency.


Supporting and advising students facing academic challenges, providing motivation, and assisting them in enhancing their community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.


Completing accurate and timely documentation of student behavior as per school protocols, reporting observations to relevant staff, and making recommendations based on those observations.

Assisting in the preparation of behavioral reports and daily activity logs as required.


Communicating essential information to students, team members, supervisors, and parents regarding students' needs and academic progress in collaboration with the classroom teacher and principal.

Maintaining the confidentiality of student information and records at all times.

Participating in the assurance and accreditation processes to ensure compliance with performance plans.

Engaging in school, student/parent, and advisory meetings as requested.

Responding constructively to both formal and informal feedback.

Performing additional duties as assigned.

‖ Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of a basic skills assessment.

Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field is preferred.

Possession of or ability to obtain a paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant, or similar credential is preferred.

Prior experience working with children, particularly in alternative or special education settings.

Experience with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders, and/or challenging behaviors is preferred.

Ability to think and act swiftly and calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.


Proficiency in motivating students and engaging in meaningful conversations that guide them toward realistic goals and next steps.

Strong oral and written communication skills, along with organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Familiarity with relevant technology, including instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
