Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team at Pixels on Target LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for hardware development, electronics hardware design, circuit design, and hardware architecture. They will work closely with the engineering team to design and develop innovative hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Hardware & PCB Design Expertise:
  2. Strong proficiency in PCB design tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or KiCad.
  3. Knowledge of digital circuit board design (including high-speed digital circuits).
  4. Experience in component selection, schematic design, layout, and testing.
  5. Ability to design boards with multi-layer PCBs and handle high-density interconnects.
  6. Embedded Systems Development:
  7. Experience with designing hardware for embedded systems.
  8. Knowledge of microcontrollers, SoCs, and FPGA architecture.
  9. Proficiency in low-power design techniques for energy-efficient embedded applications.
  10. System Performance Optimization:
  11. Ability to analyze system resource efficiency (CPU, memory, I/O) and suggest improvements.
  12. Familiarity with metrics such as power consumption, thermal efficiency, and overall system stability.
  13. Experience with scalability and system resource optimization in hardware design.
  14. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
  15. Experience in debugging hardware issues, using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  16. Familiarity with the hardware validation and debugging process to resolve hardware failures.
  17. Cross-functional Collaboration:
  18. Ability to collaborate with thermal, mechanical, firmware, and software teams to ensure cohesive product development.
  19. Experience working closely with firmware and software teams to debug and integrate hardware at the system level.
  20. Hardware Bring-Up & Design Verification Testing (DVT):
  21. Proficiency in hardware bring-up and early prototyping stages.
  22. Experience conducting Design Verification Testing (DVT) to validate performance, reliability, and adherence to specifications.
  23. Project Management & Release Process:
  24. Hands-on experience managing the hardware development lifecycle, from concept and design to prototyping and final release.
  25. Ability to handle documentation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and oversee design reviews.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations in PCB design.

Knowledge of FPGA/CPLD development, including Verilog/VHDL, may be advantageous.

Experience with manufacturing processes and understanding of supply chain management for hardware components.

Proficiency in thermal management and awareness of thermal design considerations.
