Cocke County Crisis Counselor Role Overview:

The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to fill this critical role. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree, excellent people skills, and knowledge of community resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis counseling and support services to individuals and families impacted by disaster.
  • Link clients with local, state, and national resources to aid in their recovery.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to ensure comprehensive support services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance resource availability.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social services.
  • Prior experience in crisis counseling or related field preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with F endorsement required.

Working Conditions

  • Work primarily in an office setting with occasional travel to remote areas.
  • May be exposed to stressful and traumatic situations.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is approximately $48,201 per year, based on relevant experience and education. Additional benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
