About the RoleThis position is part of our Prevention team, serving vulnerable populations in need of support. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver quality services to eligible veterans and their families in designated counties, including Greene, Hamblen, Cocke, Jefferson, Sevier, Knox, Morgan, Roane, Loudon, and Cumberland.
Key Responsibilities- You will assist in program alignment with the Veterans Affairs National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide (2018).
- Support case management activities after referrals from Case Managers.
- Help eligible veterans access VA benefits.
- Coordinate referrals and streamline care with the VA.
- Schedule appointments for Personal Health Inventories and Safety Plans.
- Review recovery treatment plans and assessments.
- Lead group therapy sessions for veterans and families.
- Organize workshops on topics such as Financial Education, Gun Safety, and Anger Management Skills.
- Cultivate strong relationships with veteran organizations and community agencies.
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Previous military experience or equivalent preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- An accredited degree in Communication, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (or 3-5 years of relevant experience).
