Purchasing Agent 2 Job Description

Daniel Defense LLC is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent 2 to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely receipt of goods and services while fostering relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental Health and Safety: Demonstrate commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Purchase Order Management: Analyze purchased requirements data to effectively communicate priorities and ensure on-time delivery of purchased goods and services.
  • Supplier Communication: Monitor open order reports, supplier forecasts, and shipping schedules to coordinate the timely receipt of goods and services and communicate schedule changes.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Communicate with suppliers to continuously improve on-time performance and simplify the supply chain, while fostering relationships and ensuring accountability.
  • Return of Non-Conforming Material: Help coordinate the return of non-conforming material or services by obtaining RMA's, creating return purchase orders, and coordinating with the shipping department.
  • MRP Purchase Receipt Dates: Work with purchasing agents to ensure MRP purchase receipt dates match supplier schedules and assist with updating purchase order dates systematically.
  • Shortage Discussions: Participate in shortage discussions and planning meetings to align planned deliveries with Supply Chain constraints.
  • Invoice Discrepancies: Assist with invoice discrepancies by calling suppliers for credit memo's, revised invoices, and updating purchase orders with correct receipt quantities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Supplier Quality: Work closely with Supplier Quality and vendors to discuss nonconforming material and services to assist in the coordination of data for Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Sourcing Activities: Assist buyers with sourcing activities such as obtaining samples and shipping to suppliers.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing, or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, great attention to detail, excellent record-keeping skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, self-motivated, and competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Experience: 2 years MRP experience required at a minimum, INFOR experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the work day. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
