About the Role

The Neonatal Critical Care Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care services and perform medical procedures under the supervision of a supervisory physician to infants (birth through 2 years of age) in specialized neonatal units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical exams, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications
  • Provide direct patient care services and contribute to excellence in patient care, research, and teaching
Requirements
  • NP: Graduate of accredited MSN or DNP Neonatal or Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program
  • PA: Graduate of accredited Master's Degree Physician Assistant Program plus a Neonatal APP Fellowship
  • Certification: NP - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC), PA - PA-C
  • License: NP - RN license issued by NCBON with approval to practice as NP, PA - NCMB issued license to practice in NC
  • Experience: NP - 3 years RN experience as neonatal nurse, 1-year NNP/PNP experience preferred, PA - 1 year PA experience thru neonatal fellowship or as neonatal provider
